No one is creating jobs in print publishing these days.

The initial memo, of course, was fun. Employees had to watch their email inboxes to find out their employment status. Oh, and the CEO wrote that the mag's mission would be fulfilled "in new and impactful ways."

According to figures I've seen via Google, the magazine had a verified and paid circulation of 3.5 million in June 2014. It's probably gone down since then but still, that's nothing to sneeze at.

But hey, if the staff are going to produce simply incredible profits (as opposed to super-duper, mindblowingly incredible ones,) it's their own fault for being canned.
