While watching 'Saving Private Ryan' a few days ago, this thread idea popped in my head and it just so happens to coincide with the other movie scene thread.

What movie scenes can you not watch or turn away from when it plays on the screen?

For me, it's in 'Saving Private Ryan' when they are battling the Germans in the town and they blast away the guy walking up the steps in the house. You see the trickle of blood and then another German shoots through the wall and catches the one solider in the neck. The German races through and goes hand-to-hand with the remaining American and yeah...it just gets worse from there.

What about you?

I've watched 'Saving Private Ryan' once. Just once. Because of that very hand-to-hand scene ...

Taboo: where Kay Parker watches her son beat off

Is that in the first one? Because she gives Paul plenty of reasons not to do that.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change.
The scene in "Poltergeist" where the researcher's assistant pulls his own face off.

How do you know that you can't watch something unless you've watched it? And then if you've watched it, you can't unwatch it.

"Dancing with Wolves", when Dunbar is drinking out of the river, then sees the deer head in it. Grosses me out.

All of Irreversible, but the rape scene and the beat down of the guy in the bar have to rank in 1 and 1A of hard to watch scenes.

I can't imagine much anything worse than either.

Second on the "Casino" head-in-a-vice scene. That's just a brutal couple minutes of film.

And nice call on Swingers. It's the ultimate cringe scene.

Not counting torture porn like the Hostel and Saw franchises, neither of which I would ever watch:

--The scene where the guy gets his finger cut off in Bound.
--Beulah Ballbricker yanking the penis through the hole in Porky's.
--The gang rape scene in The Accused
--The peace protesters getting their faces shot in half by Uzis in The Ambassador.
--Jack Nicholson getting his nostril sliced in Chinatown.

The dinner scene in The Untouchables where Capone beats the guy with the baseball bat and blood flies everywhere.

OK, Micro, priority test: Watch Gia because of nekkid Angelina Jolie, or not watch Gia because Jolie's character shoots up?
