So can anyone explain why just about every other sports icon or celebrity has their ``baggage'' exposed on espn.com -- yet tommy lasorda is left unscathed? Could it be that there are so many baseball apologists working for the site that they conspired to keep lasorda's dalliances out of site?

Yes, that's it. Don't tell anyone, but there is a whole list of guys who are NEVER to be touched, under any circumstances. Lasorda's not even in the top 10. They've also decreed to not print any negative stories about Sparky Anderson, Ron Cey or Don Zimmer this week.

I heard Steve Balboni is untouchable, too, because he plays on an ESPN company softball team. He plays first base, wears the No. 69, and swings from his cleats every at bat.

Hmmm -- did Steve Balboni or Rusty Meacham every pay $1500 to pop in porn and get oral sex? -- after they bragged they are so wholesome--criticized drug users--and declared themselves an ambassador of da game.

Hell, that's nothing. You should see the John Wooden story they've kept buried for a year. I believe Peter Golenbock broke it.

So why do you have a vendetta against Tommy Lasorda? If you answer that for us first, maybe we can answer your question.

Some busted Hollywood Madame has a book, in which she is supposedly going to name him as a john.

That's fine and it should be a story, but why is this guy so concerned about it? That's all I'm curious about.

He doesn't have Anna Nicole to worry about anymore... Tommy Lasorda is as good a new cause as any.

That would be pretty funny if the real Howard Stern had an axe to grind with Tommy Lasorda.

no vendetta--just want everyone to be treated fairly? everyone is all over me -- yet tommy remains unscathed-why? or better yet, could he post the video to raise money for charity?

Want everyone to be treated fairly by ESPN? That's what raised my eyebrow. Rather than asking why no one is jumping on this story, you asked why ESPN didn't. It just read like you have something against both ESPN and Lasorda and this was your jumping off point.

Maybe it's not what you intended, but that's the way it read.

It's not like the story has been ignored (mostly because Lasorda's attorney is out there keeping it in the news claiming defamation). The gossip pages have been all over it. But it's not stop-the-presses news. Lasorda wasn't arrested with a hooker, or anything. It's a she-said, he-said, with the she being a convicted madam. And even the madam can't ID Lasorda. She just has a hooker who supposedly met with a "Tommy La Sorda." (Hard to believe a john would ever call up and use someone else's name, either, eh?). I'm not defending Lasorda. He could be awash in more coke and hookers than Pat O'Brien on his best night and I wouldn't have a clue. But the story is still pretty light.

I have a friend who uses Tommy Lasorda as his alias when he goes to Foxwoods.

I normally use Kaiser Soeze as my alias. So if you are ever at Foxwoods and you hear Tommy Lasorda or Kaiser Soeze being paged - I'm probably in the house.

I'm giving Lasorda the benefit of the doubt on this right now.

Leave Tommy alone he is an old man just trying to earn a living in the world. I am sure he has made mistakes in his life and things he wish he had not done but to drag his name in the mud is childish and boorish at this point in his life.
