You get what you pay for.
I used to go cheap on laptops. And I would fight with it for two years before having to buy another one because it just couldn't keep up.
The MacBook is still as good as they day I brought it home. Worth every penny. And it's not because of the "coolness" factor, but because of the ease of use factor. I understand that computer geeks can do more tinkering with Windows, but a Mac is completely functional for my needs and more.
$1,500 has been the bargain of a lifetime.
