Seems real estate investors are using money intended to spur redevelopment to provide luxury condos for Bama fans.

God is going to be really pissed some day over how we handled New Orleans.

Locals say Tuscaloosa was included in the GO Zone through the efforts of Republican Sen. Richard Shelby, who is from Tuscaloosa, graduated from Alabama and sits on the powerful Appropriations Committee. But Shelby aides said Tuscaloosa made the cut because it was classified as a disaster area by the government after Katrina, not because of the senator's influence.

Riiiight.

Between this "aid" and the $8.34 contributed by the Bama Nation at its 92,000-plus spring game, there probably will be something said about it by the Big Man upstairs later on.

This really has that slimy feel like those real estate investors who flip foreclosed properties. Kind of picking over the carrion vibe to it.

Actually, yes. I attended practice, interviewed two players and two coaches, wrote a story. Wrote two other stories for the preps stuff and now I'm working a desk shift.

And I slept five hours last night.

But at least I only have to write two stories tomorrow before going to the amusement park with the munchkins as an end of summer getaway.

Have a happy Lynard Skynard listening party day!

**** it. I'd buy one if I lived down there and made that kind of money.

Nothing personal, but this post provides more proof America has largely forgotten South Mississippi, South Alabama and areas of Louisiana outside NOLA beat to **** by Katrina.
