Wasn't aware of this (Husky news doesn't make it down this way very fast) but thanks for the heads up. Someone please give details when you hear them.

I predict I will not understand every third word out of his mouth.

Calhoun: I would (inaudible) to thank (inaudible) for coming (inaudible) today. I (inaudible) to announce (inaudice) as of (inaudible), I am (inaudible) as coach (inaudible) today.

Reporter: Excuse me, coach?

Calhoun: I am (inaudible) as coach.

Reporters murmur. Rumors fly, Fozzie Bear gets a hard-on.

You'll be able to see it at www.uconnhuskies.com.

More precisely: This will be a UConn press conference IN REFERENCE to Calhoun.

Hmmmmm.

It's a little late to have a presser for that loss to the University of San Diego in the first round of the tourney.

To be honest, though, I hope it's nothing serious.

Haven't heard any rumors up here; the only things I can think of unfortunately are health related.

It's being held outdoors, which hopefully means nothing serious.

Contract extension? [/fanboy's fingers crossed]

I remember those first few interviews when Calhoun came to UConn. God. Once for a quick phoner I tried to just take notes on my computer screen. I'd taken a lot of dictation in my time (pre-laptop) but I had no chance of keeping up with him.

Actually, I always liked Calhoun back in the day. Hope everything's OK with him.

Speculation on UConn messages boards is he's going to take a year off because of health issues. Guess we'll know in a few minutes.

Is O'Neill going to be the interim?

Bill O'Neill? Our deceased former Governor? ;D Not sure who you're thinking of.

George Blaney might be in line for that.

I was thinking Kevin O'Neill and being a wiseass.

Didn't Blaney fill in after the surgery?

Unfortunately, I'm guessing that's not the case [fellow fanboy].

Calhoun's press conference began, it's on EPSN News now.

EDIT -- Respiratory infection led to a cyst/inflammed lymph node ... damn, he has cancer, and has already undergone an operation for it.

Listening to the presser...

Calhoun speaking...

He had an inflamed lymph node, discovered after the season.
