iPod help needed

My iPod classic will not load all the music in my iTunes. I've got it set to transfer all music and the settings recognizes that there are over 1,000 songs but will only sync 600 and change to the iPod.

I tried using the setting where I tick the music I want transferred and manually ticked all of it but that didn't do squat. The music not being transferred is CDs that we ripped and which were on our iPods before transferring to a new computer.

Anyone have any ideas???

Make sure the songs you're trying to transfer haven't been reclassified as "Read Only." Check by right clicking them and looking at "properties."

That's it! Now I'm wondering if I have to reimport everything to iTunes for the changes to stick. <sigh>

Apparently that wasn't it. I honestly can't find any difference between the files that WILL transfer and the ones that won't. I may have to drop by the Apple store. <bigger sigh>

Yeah, I wasn't sure that would work. Just put on your toe ring(s) and Birkenstocks and they'll straighten you right out!

So I fixed it .... When I opened iTunes all the music that wouldn't transfer had an ! to the left of the the title. When I right clicked and chose "Song Info" the ! went away. I had to arrow through the entire library but as soon as those !s went away I was gold.
