My Bluetooth keyboard stopped working on my iPad. It’s old so I figured maybe it was shot and bought a new one. Now I have the new one connected, but still no response when I hit the keys. I looked for a setting that may have gotten switched accidentally, but couldn’t find anything.

Anybody have any idea what’s going on?

Thanks in advance.

You've now got two KBs and one iPad?

Or is it one KB and two iPads?

If it is the former, I'd see if you could find another iPad to pair the KB with. You need to isolate one and not the other, and your current suspect is your iPad with no proof of any issue with either or both of the two KBs.

So, you need another iPad (from a friend or coworker) to test your KBs.

It was two keyboards, but I just was able to sit down and try again and one is working now. I guess I can see if the original will do the job, that way I can take the new KB back to Walmart.

I still have no idea what was going on, but I’m glad it works because I’ve been taking my iPad to work at coffee shops and cover games instead of lugging a laptop around.

Did you drop the other KB?

Bluetooth is an RF signal, not an infrared signal, so I wonder about power and transmitter in the KB that acted up.

Anyway, glad you are back to typing. I always tell people that learning to type correctly is one of the three best skills I learned in high school.
