Matt Harvey's well thought of reputation has hit bump in the road. He was on
Dan Patrick this a.m. and when Patrick started asking him about his arm
and possibility of TJ surgery Harvey cut him off and said "I'm here to
talk about Qualcom. Sounded like a jack ass.

Obviously does not understand the quid pro qua of radio interviews. Talk about
what the interviewer wants to talk about and then do quick promo for your
sponsor.

A few in minutes of uncomfortable radio. Love when it happens.

It surprised me. But then again, seeing the quid pro quo interviews escape Super Bowl week radio row bugs me. And yet oddly enough, Saragusa talking about Depends for Men and explaining why there is such a product (as a result of an enlarged prostate) was something I did not know and helped explain why anyone would do an ad like that.

I can imagine athletes sign on to these deals because they think it's easy money, and then they find they have to hit 10 or more talk shows over a couple of hours going over the same turf and its gets very tiresome. But still, there is a difference to pulling that stuff with Zack and the Caveman in Topeka and show with Patrick's reach.

Why? The kid is what, 23? He's young, stupid, and probably got horrible advice from his people. He apologized yesterday and is willing to come back on the show. No reason to tell him no.

Good move. Figured that might happen. Patrick gets big name players because
he makes them look good and also does a good job in working in whatever
they are plugging in a non offensive way to listeners. He has a way of
bringing out sides of players personality that the public usually does not see.
