STLhighschoolsports.com is looking for a sports editor. This position will edit high school sports coverage for publication in the Post-Dispatch and on STLtoday.com. The successful candidates will have a good understanding of high school sports and will know the importance of social media to high school sports. Must demonstrate proficiency in CMS and newspaper design on deadline, have the ability to work with a variety of sports and special features, have a high level of editing skills and knowledge of style for both newsprint and online, and mastery of online and social media skills. This is an evening position and requires weekend work.



Must have a Journalism or related degree and have a minimum of at least 2 years experience in editing and design.

Looks like a link to an internal Lee site. What say thou, fellow Lee types?
 
Not sure if this is Cameron. Mike Elder, who was a longtime editor in the St. Louis area, died recently at 52.

I am not sure if you would be filling this position (BIG shoes to fill) or if another position is being created.

Cameron didn't go anywhere and Mike was laid off last November. This isn't exactly a high school editor, more like a night copy editor to replace the night editor who is moving to the P-D copy desk.

Damn, I just read this and saw where Mike Elder died. That's two Journal longtimers in the past 18 months ... Dennis Barnidge and now Elder. Both very good dudes.
