Finally got out of the Stone Age. Just upgraded from dial-up today. Why didn't you guys tell me what I've been missing? No more waiting to long onto the 'Net. No more fuzzy pictures to descramble (we had NetZero hi-speed). No more buffering on video/audio. No more taking 20 minutes to online bank. All this for a mere $20 a month more than we were paying.

I have seen the light! DSL from now on, bye bye dial-up.

Holy mother of god. You're so late to the party (yes, I'm the guy who just discovered iTunes a month ago.)

I popped my high-speed cherry in 2001, went to cable modem for the first time. I've been on DSL for the last year, and it's even better than cable (for me anyway. Because of a) price and 2) reliability.)

I will never use dial-up again. I'd rather not use the Internet for a day if I have to use dial-up. It gets me too frustrated waiting for ****. I'm an impatient addict, thank you.

I'm hoping to go wireless on the road with my laptop to avoid the agony of searching for a WiFi or a phone jack. I have Verizon phones, so I'm thinking of the Verizon Wireless internet option. Does anyone have suggestions on this front?

And congratulations chubster.

Also, 270 words per minute isn't bad. I can hit nearly 100.

Honestly, before I clicked on the thread, I thought "There's no way it goes a full page without an Angelina Jolie reference." Well done.

Verizon has a neat quick connect feature that works well -- all it does is burn up your minutes, but most of the time I'm accessing the net with it well after 9 p.m., anyway.

Thanks. I hate myself right now. :-\
