I have to work tonight, so I won't be able to walk in the Village Halloween parade for the first time in many years. I also had to switch my usual costume for a sideline-appropriate hippie... which nobody at the match will get, since I have to wear a heavy jacket over the tie-dye.

My wife bought Pearson's Salted Nuts Rolls to hand out. Told her I don't want the housed egged so restocking.

No, I'm not a dentist ... but my teeth will need a good cleaning after this week. Hell, I've been snacking on the hidden candy stash for about a week.

Chocolate has always been my week spot for healthy eating, and Halloween is a great excuse to be bad!

Also be careful it seems that more and more kids have nut allergies. Some can't even sit at the same table with other kids who have nuts.

Kind of have mixed favorites for Halloween candy. for chocolate; twix, heath bar, reeses peanut butter cup, kit kat, milky way. don't really like snickers or almond joy.

for non-chocolate candy: runts, nerds, smarties, neco, sweet tarts, spree, pop rocks (if they're still around), starburst. starburst is probably the only soft non-chocolate candy i really like. don't like mike and ike, dots, mary jane (if that's still around) or any chewy type candy.

I live in a neighborhood where Halloween is a BIG deal. We get trick-or-treaters from neighboring burgs where the action isn't as fierce.

But I swear this is the year where I won't give candy to some adult walking alone and saying it's for his/her sick kid.

But I swear this is the year where I won't give candy to some adult walking alone and saying it's for his/her sick kid.

Then it turns out it IS for his kid and the kid dies wishing for one last Kit-Kat and you're going to feel like a massive ****heel.
Give up the candy.

I looked again at that thread I linked above and it goes from 2007-2014. Longer than I thought.

I wonder if typefitter still terrorizes the neighbors as he did back then?

We used to enjoy Halloween. Now, I have a dog who screams bloody murder anytime the doorbell goes off or someone approaches the front door. So yeah, the front porch light stays off tonight.

We might get three trick or treaters tonight. We're at the front of a subdivision, along a fairly busy state highway, and have a fence around our yard. I don't think people ever even see our porch light.
Still bought two bags of Kit Kats and two bags of mini Hershey's. I'm a little blue today, and handing out some candy might help cheer me up. The wife, who is on a diet and trying to drag me into it kicking and screaming, probably won't be as happy.
