This is getting a lot of attention.

Is it a case of a tech-bro, who doesn't respect women and minorities, or a valid concern regarding diversity programs, or maybe somewhere in between?

In addition to pointing out the biological inferiority of women, because of the blood coming out of their whatevers, one of his main points was that any diversity effort whose success and impact on the bottom line couldn't be quantified was a waste of time. So I expect him to be here shortly to talk baseball.

No sympathy. There may be kernels of truth to what he's saying, but he popped the whole bag -- and at Google, the one place where everyone (men and women) is top of the line.

The reason women don't get into engineering and computer fields isn't the difficulty of the material. It's jackasses like this and the reality that they are the norm.

The media summations of the manifesto are all like that.

I'm not sure anyone in the mainstream media who's written or opined on it, have read it.

Uh, who is it that didn't read it?

On average, men and women biologically differ in many ways. These differences aren’t just socially constructed because:
  • They’re universal across human cultures
  • They often have clear biological causes and links to prenatal testosterone
...

Note, I’m not saying that all men differ from women in the following ways or that these differences are “just.” I’m simply stating that the distribution of preferences and abilities of men and women differ in part due to biological causes and that these differences may explain why we don’t see equal representation of women in tech and leadership.

...

In addition to the Left’s affinity for those it sees as weak, humans are generally biased towards protecting females. As mentioned before, this likely evolved because males are biologically disposable and because women are generally more cooperative and areeable than men.

tl;dr

I CAN'T GET LAID!!!!

Not really helping to refute what was written:

Another software engineer who used to work for Google, Kelly Ellis, says some women who still work at the company stayed home on Monday because the memo made them "uncomfortable going back to work."

Google Reportedly Fires Employee Who Slammed Diversity Efforts
Wonder how they handle a big project on a tight deadline? Every time you see a story like this, it reinforces stereotypes about women. If you want equality, buck the hell up.

******* should be at home taking care of the house, right Hondo.

Yes. Clearly these women have been holding Google back for years. The company is obviously failing.

I think that this situation is more proof that, if you're going to send out a statement that you believe is game-changingly important, first send it to an editor.

(I don't think that this post is all that important, so I didn't ask an editor for a better phrase than game-changingly.)

That's just as likely to have been a show of force by coveted employees. "We're gone if you keep this asshole." Quite the manly move!

Silicon Valley has a big-time labor shortage right now especially in tech. Every one of those women would have another job in about three days, and Google would be understaffed. That's a bad outcome for the company.
