Hey guys,
So I have a bit of a random question. I've been tasked with the role of "Man of Honor" at my best friend Tiffany's wedding. For those of you who don't know, it's the traditional role of Maid of Honor but for those of us with a penis.
Anyway, this means I am going to be giving a speech at her wedding and I want to make it pretty special so I had this great idea that I would try (And I know it's going to be difficult if not impossible) to find a way to get some of her favorite sports icons to record a brief congratulatory video for her that I would play at the end of my speech. I know it would mean the world to her and be something original and unexpected that she would never forget.
Essentially, I am hoping to get a 30-second note of congratulations from the following individuals but have no idea how to go about it and/or whether I have a snow ball's chance in hell of pulling this off: Ray Bourque, Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, David Ortiz, Kevin Garnett/Paul Pierce, Manny Ramirez.
Now, don't get me wrong. I'm fully aware that this is a long shot but I figured I'd throw it up to this board as some of you guys would likely know better than me just how small the chance of me pulling this off is. I don't expect to get all of them but I would settle for one or two.
I was thinking about contacting the PR offices for the current players on that list and, apart from that, I have no idea how else to broach the topic. I know there are some agencies that handle speaking engagements for some of the icon celebrities. Would that work?
I am willing to pay to make this happen but, obviously, that all depends on whether or not it's even possible.
For the record, my friend has defined her live around her sports icons and they played a large role in her getting into journalism and still define her to this day.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
