Kazmir's going nuts on the Rangers, seven strikeouts through three innings.

Dan Wheeler holds the Rays record with 12.

How bad must your franchise suck if Dan Wheeler holds your all-time record for most strikeouts in a game?

Well, until this season, the Rays franchise did. Doesn't mean they're sucking now though. 14-1 run over the last two homestands, and ahead again tonight.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Rays win the wild card, as long the Sox are division winners.

Ponson's remembered who he is. 5-0 Rays on a 3-run homer by Hinske.

Kazmir has 9 Ks through five but, even more remarkably, no walks and only 70 pitches.

And with Pedro Feliz' two-run single, the Fightins now have put a six-spot up on the Rockies in the 4th, making the score 10-4 Phils. When this offense is hitting on all cylinders, there isn't one better in baseball.

A little late there LJB. Heilman already pitched a scoreless 5th and 6th and struck out 3.
That his one good one for the month of May

They'll be 6 1/2 out after this one. Right about the time a team gives up thinking it's inconsistent, or flawed, as Broadway Joe says, and realizes it's dog****.

only 70?

Considering he has averaged fewer than six innings and about 102 pitches per start in his career, 70 through 5 was very good for Kazmir.

He's now at 95 pitches and 10 Ks through 7.

You're assuming LJB that because the Mets are down 3 in the 7th they can't come back and ....
oh, wait, these are the Mets down 3 in the 7th .... dead meat.

Dog****, might be an good word for them

He's not coming out for the eighth. Rays half of the seventh took forever. Wheeler's record remains intact.

Oh **** off. Red Sox Nation can go die in a fire. ;D

Two of the three best teams in baseball are in the AL East. Tampa is one of them.

Add another six-spot in the sixth. Now 16-4.
