Daylight saving and deadlines

So our deadline for Saturday night has been bumped up an hour because of daylight saving time (we're usually a half-hour early on Saturdays anyway -- I believe to accomodate the inserters). Might not be a problem except we've got a H.S. regional playoff game that starts at 7:30 that night and will probably only get five inches in for first edition, which, of course, is the edition that this school gets.
Not griping too much. If they want to move deadlines for DST, then fine, but I wonder why they can't move our deadline the other way in the fall when the clocks are set back an hour. We're into football playoffs then, and any extra time is always useful. All I can figure is that they don't want to pony up the overtime for everyone staying there an extra hour.

Our paper tells the carriers not to change their clocks until they get off the route. No change either way for us as far as deadlines.

But the threat of even a flake of snow, and people freak out.

Aww, who gives a ****..........Bust your ass, put the paper out as soon as you can, anyone who calls up and *******, tell 'em to sleep an extra half-hour sometime.

Those who wait by the door clocking the paper delivery have absolutely nothing else to do in their sorry-ass lives.

The paper will get there this morning. The mail is late sometimes. And so is your dinner, Pops.

We still worry about these neurotics?

I just want to work at one paper that not only gives us an early deadline when the time changes in the spring, but gives us a later deadline whe the time changes in the fall. It never happens.
