DAs write about Baylor, Boise stonewalling

Sports Journalists Forum – Media, Newsroom & Reporting Talk

News gets worse for Baylor ... sexual assault victims were threatened with expulsion for drinking if they pushed their charges. Pretty horrible behavior by officials at a Christian school. God is watching.

Baylor University is going to have a tough next decade. As it should. It might get tossed from the Big 12. That'd be a reasonable punishment, IYAM.

We're also at a point where what's being reported about what Baylor officials allegedly did is more or less a bargaining chip in settlement talks. How many of these allegations been...cross-examined?

That nugget about how Boise police have no record of visits to Ukwuachu's apartment, despite the several confirmations by police and their body microphones, should have BSU administrators feeling the heat too.

But it won't.

That was a great read.

First of all, what a freaking monster Ukwuachu seems to be. Second, it was very clear Baylor and Boise officials felt they were above the law. Good for these assistant DAs for their efforts.
Thanks for sharing.

My hats off not only to the DA; but also the victims friends; what great friends pushing her to report and staying with her in the hospital; that's the type of strong support that unfortunately is too often lacking.

As for the DA; thanks for showing the public that not everyone is beholden to a big athletic corporation (even if it's supposedly a Christian school).

That won't happen, but it (along with poor Iowa State) will get kicked down to the AAC in about a decade when the TV deal expires, Texas bolts for the PAC-12 or Big 10 and the rest of the conference gets looted for spare parts.

Conservative hero Ken Starr did a heckuva job. Nice Christian family values at work.

That same day will be when I stop watching college football.

I know. Would still like to see it happen. They had no business being invited to the league in the first place.

There's selling out -- Notre Dame wearing alternate jerseys -- and then there's selling your soul by selling out a helpless college kid.
Baylor officials threatening rape victims with expulsion reminded me of the how the *** broke at SMU: Yanking the scholarship of David Richards, who was just about to graduate. He then spilled the beans of the school's player payroll to any reporter who would listen.

The reaction of The AD after Dale Hansen presents him with an envelope with his own handwriting on it was priceless.
