Clock runs out on Flavor Flav's chicken joint

Looks like Flavor Flav and his business partner had a falling out, so the Flavor Flav's Fried Chicken joint in Clinton, Iowa, is shutting its doors after four months:

Two questions:

1. Clinton, Iowa?? I've been there too many times to count, and have no idea why a former rap star would even pass through there, let alone try to open a restaurant there.

I mean ... it's not exactly BFE, but you can see it from there. What, was there no good site available in Muscatine?

2. Apparently the potato salad wasn't too good ... depending on who you believe. As the Quad-City Times noted:

(Business partner Nick) Cimino countered in a phone interview Sunday night with the Quad-City Times, “It wasn’t mismanaged by me. He mismanaged it right from the beginning because he didn’t know what he was doing.

“He wanted to be an active partner in the business when he didn’t even know what was going on,” Cimino added.

Flavor Flav went to the Clinton restaurant several times and told TMZ that on April 2 he found potato salad with an expiration date of Feb. 28.

“And it’s then when I realized I can’t do business with this man, and I really hope no one ate those potatoes,” he said in the interview.

Cimino countered: “We got inspected by the health department all the time. Flavor Flav’s making it up in his own little brain.”

Knew a couple of people who ate there a week or two before it closed. They said the chicken was great, but the service was horrible and there were few side dishes available because they were "out" of most everything. Which, considering the potato salad story, was probably a good thing.
