My SE just told me that Jon Mark Beilue has been fired from the Amarillo Daily News. He'd been at the paper about 25 years, the last 15 or so as SE. Nice of them to let him hang around long enough to get the football tab out.

Last I heard, JMB is a metro columnist. ****-for-brains, cliche-ridden ASE will take over in the interim. Executive editor, who has been tabbed "a *****" by most in the newsroom, likely to hire a buddy from California or perhaps promote ASE. If the latter happens, God be with those in the department. Dude is friggin' clueless.

From my limited dealings with him, Jon seems like a really nice guy and someone who knows what the hell he's doing. I hope for his sake this is something he wanted. It sure sounds like a lot less work.

Lot's of people have tried, very few have succeeded. It aint the steak that always gets em. They serve it up with salad and a loaded baked potato...at least they did.

Like pointed out that is 4.5 pounds of beef...the equivelant of 18 of McDonald's quarterpounders...just the meat. With the fixins I think a rough translation would be about 6 quarter punders with the buns and stuff, and 12 patties. Good luck.

There is a high school coach in Texas named Rusty Nail...not sure if he as named after the Amarillo hot spot.
