Apologies if this is a d_b.

Newsroom and outside advertising not affected. Still, not good news.

Lots of veterans in the newsroom/sports department - seems like Beebe, Mike Harrington and Jerry Sullivan have been there forever - so I'm sure some will take the money and retire to Cheektovegas and spend their idle days wandering around the Walden Galleria.

That guy Olaf Fub has been there forever too, he should be ready to quit. ;D

Grew up reading the old Courier-Express and the News. Both were/are pretty solid papers.

There's nothing coming in the newsroom there (good news for once) The union contract is just about the best in the country and there's virtually no way to lay anybody off. And they still make a ton of money.

It's not as though Warren Buffet is having trouble making finance payments related to his acquisition of the paper.

I strongly suspect that net operating incoming there is the the range of $35 million a year, which doesn't approach the billions The Oracle of Omaha pocketed when he cashed out most of his position in PetroChina last year, but still a nice chunk of change.
