I can't find any links online yet, but there was an explosion and a potential building collapse near the Metro North tracks up around 114th -116th Street and Park Ave. in New York.

There are a lot of fire fighters there, and it looks like there is a lot of smoke around the area.

I have no idea if it is a big deal yet, but it is breaking. They have cancelled Metro North trains heading north from Grand Central Station.

Heavy.com has a few links, calling it a 3-alarm fire.

Yeah. Not good, but I thought it might be a larger building complex (projects?) that is a block or two away. If one of them came down, there would be a lot of people hurt. Here is the building that came down (the one with the church). I hope everyone who lived there is OK.

It's a block or two north of the Taft housing project on a dilapidated /not yet gentrified block. The Metro-North tracks can't be much more than a couple hundred feet away from the building, if that.

Two dead and 15 injured. This gives you an idea how close it is to the Metro-North tracks.
