We've got nearly 24 more hours to worry about it, since we didn't hold to get it in.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The BCS national championship game ended too late for this edition. Please visit PODUNK_TIMES.COM for complete results.

Yeah. That's what the readers are going to do. Right after they renew their subscription.

Oh, man, I feel your pain.

Seriously, I feel for people in the Eastern Time Zone. So many of the marquee events start (and finish) so darn late now because of television that you rarely get a chance to do much with them. Newspapers are already at a disadvantage when it comes to breaking news.... now we can't even get the late-breaking news in. *sigh*

I went with Urban legend.

We have good deadlines, but did anyone else have this problem: I had room for an AP sidebar on the winner, which initially was a quoteless story from Mark Long on Tebow. I waited and waited for an updated version, then finally a new Florida sidebar from Long appeared that was about Harvin this time. Had to do some quick switching on art.

The daily St. Pete Times magazine, TBT, had this (www.tampabay.com/tbt):

CROWN HIM

Nice little clever reference to Jesus Tebow?

I saw Gator Raid today. Clever.

That's what we had, which worked because we had main art of Urban Meyer getting doused with some orange liquid that presumably was Gatorade.

Being close to Sooner country, I went with BOOMER BUST, with a subhead saying Tebow leads Florida to national title, extending OU's BCS futility.

I don't even remember mine, the game was so late. Actually, it ended in enough time for us to make deadline, but it wasn't a great headline.

Oh well.
