I agree Papelbon acts the exact same way, but he's got 70-odd saves and a World Series ring.

I do find it interesting that both Rivera and Goose Gossage have said they aren't fans of Papelbon's antics. I wonder if either/or has spoken to Joba about his demeanor.

thing is, a pitcher's response to the mannys of the world is to nail 'em with a pitch. not done anymore.

batters don't like papelbon or joba? tough noogies. only choice is to hit what they're dealing, right? easier said than done.

i'm much more apt to chalk up joba's act -- whatever it is folks think he's doing -- is having only about 25 innings of relief under his belt. if papelbon is still doing stuff to **** off people, you'd have thought he woulda calmed down by now.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that other teams are getting real sick real fast of Joba's histronics.

I haven't seen said histronics. And I'm not the biggest fan of the Tony La Russa "sacred unwritten rules" book. Alls I'm saying is that if I had that cheese, I'd show off the guns every now and then.

I'm sure we've already had this discussion, but I've mostly been knee-deep in March Madness **** for a few days. Can anyone think of a lineup worse than this year's Giants "lineup?" I'm drawing a blank. That thing is horrid.

I have a bad feeling that Pierre is going to steal a lot of at-bats from Kemp this year, which is stupid. Torre's going to get too caught up in the righty-lefty crap. Kemp isn't pre-2007 Eric Byrnes. He can mash right-handed pitchers, too.
