Hey there I've just found your little site, and it's a fantastic way to look for job vacancies. We don't have anything like this in Australia.

Was wondering could anyone tell me how Aussie sports journo's would go over here and would people be keen to hire?

Cheers

We'll need some Foster's, newbie.

:D Welcome. We accept all nationalities to this corner of the cyber world. We even tolerate Canadians. ;)

If you have the talent, I see no reason why you couldn't be hired in America. Relocation costs would be hefty though.

Thanks a bunch

How disappointing the only thing we have to show is Fosters!! Blaahhhh

And yes can't go past the aussie rules, of course the national sport. We even lent a couple to the NFL!!

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change.
You'd have to get a paper to sponsor you for a work visa, which might be difficult. That and the fact that most papers have more layoffs than openings. Plus, our referees don't dress as well as yours.

Good luck though.

Fishwrapper, most of the metropolitan journo's use inverted pyramid.

As for your regionals rags around here, mmmmm well the less said the better

I'm not in print, i'm tele

Please don't shoot me! :)

Jomack, Google Chico Harlan.
He's a Pittsburgh writer who just relocated to Australia.
I would think he'd be a good person to talk to to get things started,

Thanks Markvid,

There's a guy called Ed Wyatt not sure where in the states he's from but he does the NFL stuff for one of our channels here, which makes sense to have someone who knows the ins and outs of the sport and gives it credibility.

Makes it easier for us to understand! :)

As far as I'm aware there's not many of you guys coming over here, probably for us it'd be more of a challenge seeing how you guys work and what have you.

Andrew Both, who covers golf in the U.S. for the Australian Associated Press and is based in North Carolina, could probably give you some solid advice. PM me for his e-mail if you like.

We need a Kiwi so we have someone to visit and help us when we're on the prowl for zany New Zealand women.

We do have some "tele" people here, but you will find lots more at tvspy.com... Try this link...

Be warned... the people on that site are crazy, but then again aren't all TV people? :)

Your right Lucas,

Too much botox for some of them.

Plays havoc with their commonsense cells! :D

I have to go out to skeet shooting now, anyone like shooting?
