The Houston Chronicle is seeking an experienced journalist to join our team of editors.

The candidate must have experience as a sports editor or assigning editor. The candidate also must be savvy in online journalism and social media. At least seven years of experience required.

This is an opportunity to help shape Chronicle coverage, including that of the Texans, Rockets and Astros.

This position's duties include planning and executing coverage for online and print, creating content (blogging, video, etc.) and building social networking communities around our content.

We will move FAST on this position.

Please email a resume and cover letter explaining why you are perfect for the job to Sports Editor Nick Mathews at [email protected].

Please put "HC ASE" as the subject line. No phone calls please.

Good news. I don't know Reid personally but I'm very familiar with the sports section he ran in St. Louis. The P-D has a damn good section considering what all has happened over the years.

Moddy! Moddy!! I beg the site's indulgence! :) I shall never doubt you again on a job posting. :)

I'm savvy enough for the Houston Chronicle, dammit!

Whew. Spared the guillotine. Now to comment on Fran's post, I myself would love to know who took over in St. Louis. Did someone get elevated from the editing ranks there?
