Description:
The leader in publishing for the educational athletics market, Momentum Media Sports Publishing seeks to hire an Assistant Editor to join its editorial team. Assistant editors write and edit content for three magazines and their Web sites, all of which serve professionals in high school and college athletics.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Editor include researching and writing one feature story and four (shorter) up-front articles per month; editing; proofreading; and working as a team with other staff members to produce in-depth and engaging articles. Once trained, Assistant Editors have the opportunity to manage issues and oversee special projects.
Workflow is well-paced to avoid stress and overtime. If you’re tired of the hectic pace of a newsroom, we provide a great alternative.
We are looking for candidates with excellent writing skills who are interested in learning how to write in-depth, advice-driven articles. Knowledge of athletics and/or sports medicine is a plus. Must have experience interviewing and writing feature-length articles.
