How quickly, on average, will you editors get the complete, quotes-included NBA game recaps? I'm just curious.

If you're referring to the optional, on average, 90 minutes to two hours. Some bureaus are notoriously slower than others.

Almost time for me to reactivate the annual AP Bowl countdown clock. A fan favorite.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

And he has a stopwatch.

And an itchy posting finger.
Well, judging from the totals .. there are itchier fingers than mine.

I found the bowl clock interesting last year not because it spotlighted anything bad about the AP's performance, but rather that they turned things around as quickly as they did.

Contrary to what is written here, the target time is one hour, a bit longer for NFL because so much quote-gathering is involved there. One hour for optional should be the norm for baseball and basketball. Depends on the writer, of course.

Can we do a pick'em for slowest turnaround? I got dibs on the Alamo Bowl.

I find it's usually about one hour from when when the quoteless story moves. But, as was said. some move slower than others.
