Understandable move by TribCo. After all, if it doesn't stay competitive and give generous bonuses, all that top management talent will go elsewhere.

Where? You know ... elsewhere.

May these executives burn in hell, slowly.

Everytime I hear a story about how our industry is dying, I read one of these stories. Newspapers can't turn a profit? How come Baltimore has $70 million to hand out in bonuses? Ridiculous.

I could be wrong, but I would assume these bonus are "Tribune-wide" and not going just to Baltimore. Baltimore guild just had the balls to speak truth to power.

I'm staggered how any bonuses can ever be allowed by any business in bankruptcy.

If your ****ing executives are so great, you would not be in bankruptcy.

So pay your ****ing bills first, get out of bankruptcy, and then worry about how to retain your brilliant executives.

Y'all are just hateful and ignorant. You know how much a yacht payment sets you back a month? Give these execs a break.

Made me laugh.

But the suits at Tribune Co. really need to go on one of those Ned Beatty weekend canoe trips.

Kind of good to know that management wasn't heartless or incompetent, just greedy.

Honestly, isn't this blood money? These are the ethics and morals of the people now leading the industry?

Gee, I wonder if Maria Bartiromo asked Zell about this in their interview on CNBC a few days ago.

The next time there is any labor negotiations (if there is a next time), I hope the union reminds Tribune of this every step of the way.
