Love the header on this one - I suspect a dead assistant editor might be cheaper but a lot of work wouldn't get done!

Job Requirements Columbus Alive, the citys No.-1 entertainment publication, is seeking a creative, hardworking Assistant Editor to join our team of talented journalists. This position will write and edit content for the weekly newspaper and daily website covering entertainment, arts, dining, nightlife and city life for young adults.
As the Assistant Editor, you will:
Have a strong vision for connecting with readers in their 20s and 30s;
Copy-edit stories with a keen eye for detail and strong sense of style, and proofread pages prior to publication;
Write stories in a distinctive and engaging voice;
Work with staff reporters and freelancers in developing and assigning stories;
Maintain comprehensive database listings for restaurant, bar and music guides, with a passion for accuracy;
Lead by example in a collaborative, high-energy newsroom;
And remain unflappable under daily deadline pressure.
The ideal candidate will have well-developed journalistic skills, outstanding writing and editing abilities, a broad knowledge of popular culture, and the ability to identify trends and topics relevant to the target audience. Must have a Bachelors degree or equivalent and five years of related experience. Equivalent combinations of training and experience will be considered. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
