the word "asshole" comes out pretty clear here. Anybody there?

I'm confused- Wouldn't Alford have been in New Mexico locker room:

"To his credit, Tavernari went to the BYU locker room after the game to apologize to Alford. In what looked like a fairly even match of assholishness, why did the player have to be the one to say sorry? Shouldn't we be holding coaches to a higher standard? Maybe, but Mormons tend to hold themselves to the highest."

Probably just a mistake

Wow . . . I guess Alford really does want to show Indiana fans that he would be a great fit there.

Don't want to make excuses for a coach who should know better, but the BYU player did make an ass out of himself several times in the closing minutes.

Sure did.

Frequent displays lacking in grace have emerged from that program's football and basketball activities when things don't go their way. Tsk, tsk.

Alford's exhibited this behavior before. He will talk to opposing players way too much. When UNM played Southern Miss once some of their players didn't shake hands at the end of the game. Cameras caught him shouting to some of them, "I'll light your ass up!"

Oh but dearie me, you can't say anything dirty to them because they are oh-so-holy Mormons.

Release the Iowa fan hounds!

I'll save it for when Alford yells "asshole" at the player who knocks New Mexico out in the first round of the NCAAs.

I thought that, too, but that was a pretty good win yesterday.

Likely but it does not sound as bad if Alford went to BYU locker room to apologize.

Is there any coach in any sport who doesn't do a good cuss job once in a while?

I find it so funny to watch a coach royally chew out officials, his own players and even an opposing coach or player. Then I go interview them after the game and they can be oh so diplomatic and politically correct.

It's the epitome of cognitive dissonance. Every time I ever saw Tom Crean coach a game at Marquette, I would, "Oh, boy, this is not going to be a fun postgame at all." And then he'd come to the interview room completely composed and looking like a college professor and not the bat**** lunatic he acted like for 40 minutes.

Yeah, I may actually be on Alford's side in this one.

Wasn't it just a couple months ago that we were watching that UNM soccer girl beat the **** out of half the BYU women's team? The Lobos just lose it when they see those mormons.
