Would be like getting the 11th hour call from the governor while on death row for Tribune.
WTF?
I can't.Imagine working in a newsroom owned by Alden.
So that guy Bainum's bid for Tribune Publishing is higher than Alden's, but since Alden already has two seats on Trib's board the board is recommending the Alden bid. The ostensible rationale is that Alden's is an all-cash offer, but those guys are getting very close to the line, securities law-wise.
WTF?
It’s behind a paywall, but the bid is likely to be considered superior to Alden’s.

Wasn't there another story about Tribune taking Alden's bid regardless of the offer from other bidders? Something about an all-cash deal? It’s behind a paywall, but the bid is likely to be considered superior to Alden’s.
