Interesting story from an editor of The Drive, an automotive news web site, who got stopped while test driving a Range Rover on loan from the company.
The tl;dr version is that a data entry error by the Los Angeles Police Department over a missing plate during a Land Rover photo shoot triggered a nationwide alert through the Flock camera AI system; which was exacerbated by the unique way New Jersey's manufacturer plates are designed; and which in turn led to police in Minnesota spring on this guy in a Kohl's parking lot after tracking him around town for several days with the Flock cameras.

Thankfully, this guy kept his wits about him and he and the police somehow sorted it out during the stop. He mentions, though — and so did the police who stopped him — that that could easily have not been the case with a different set of officers and someone who wasn't as on the ball as he was.

Today I learned that Flock cameras not only just shoot the license plate as it was sold to city councils throughout the land, but that it also shoots the drivers' compartment and can ID drivers by their hairdos.
