    New Jersey pizza rocks!

Benny Tudino's in Hoboken is the best, Jerry, the best.

    MUSIC THREAD

Tweedy vs. Farrar is sort of a Ginger vs. Mary Ann/Wilma vs. Betty thing, except no chicks involved and less gingham. I'm personally a Tweedy guy, but agree that lots of recent Wilco, for me anyway, has been hit or miss. Some songs just feel like "album filler" that are too weird...

    BOOKS THREAD

It was Sardinia. Great book. I don't know of any books on Celtic-Ranger. And by chance is msaint short for Mark St. Amant, who wrote "Committed: Confessions of a Fantasy Football Junkie"? I saw you reply in the fantasy football thread and figured, with the topic, either you were an imposter or...

    talking football....

respectfully disagree. i think carr's one of the few jeff tedford drones with actual nfl-caliber talent (though boller showed signs of life end of last season), but he's just been the most downright abused qb in the nfl since he came into the league -- taken the most sacks by a longshot. and...

    There is a god

Yes, this launch has been about as successful as New Coke, and it's very been fun to trash them for this financial disaster. Business schools will study this for years to come on how NOT to launch a product --- wrong time of year, overpriced, misjudged target market, etc. BUT, I will say, as an...

    Lance Bass is gay

"Lance" is clearly a verb. Those poor bass.

    Harold Reynolds Fired By ESPN

not true. he did a radio spot for a mobile espn baseball tonight sweepstakes/promotion.

    ESPY's thread, spoiler link

big ben NOT getting a standing O -- espn must have thoght people would stand, applaud, weep, as if he heroically made it back from stomach cancer -- when he joined his teamates on stage was priceless. an extremely anti-climactic climax to the show, they totally misjudged that one. but i do give...

    The ******* on PTI

I've always thought the stylized pic next to his articles in ESPN The Mag makes him look like Joe Pesci's swingingly gay/transvestite character in JFK ("David Ferrie"). It's highly unsettling.

agree. great talent, but just not that funny. something's missing.

forgive me if this has been added already: telfair to the celts for dickau and #7 pick. part of larger iverson deal perhaps?

I hope Vince McMahon is getting royalties for those XFL-looking monstrosities.

Entourage 6/18 (Spoilers Warning I guess)

Agree on the "co-stars" of Tourgasm. That insecure, whiny little spiky-haired twit is brutally unfunny, not even sure what he's doing there other than being a buddy of Dane's. Bobby has the "I'm the fat, abrasive New Yawka up in ya face" thing going on and not much else, one-trick pony. Gulman...

Best towns for an A*& whipping

Southie . . . Boston, MA. Chock-full of bored, sun-burnt, pissed off, Notre Dame Fightin' Irish leprechaun tattoo-sporting, chowderheaded punks looking for any excuse to throw down 364 days of the year. (Multiply the agression by a million on St. Patty's Day.)

    BOOKS THREAD

Indeed, Moddy, I enjoyed the book club discussions. Great of Kindred to re-stoke the flames, though. About to launch into his Ali-Cosell book.

    BOOKS THREAD

About to start McCullough's 1776 -- without any key spoilers (e.g. please don't tell me who won the Revolutionary War), any opinions out there on this one?

    BOOKS THREAD

The Adams bio was just tremendous. Love how McCullough more or less paints Jefferson as a colonial era Bill Clinton: a blatant womanizer, the ultimate politician (and not in a positive way). At least that's how I read it.
