Why wouldn't you call it a job? I get paid for my work. In my three years as a contributor I've done a lot of things that I never would've been able to do with my full-time newspaper gig. Don't sell yourself short.

I am a regular contributor to IrishEyes magazine and the site is well respected. Mike Frank is highy thought of. If I were still in Indiana I would apply for this.

Bubbler, I agree with you. But the problem is, when decisions come down the almighty dollar, Packer coverage is expendable. Which of course is sad.

Brad is good people. He's bar-none of the nicest SE's I've ever had. When the news came down about Dylan, Zimanek and Tomlinson were the last people to know. The worst part of the job cut is that the P-C's Packers Preview and Packers Final (which were very good) will be almost entirely filled...

Tomlinson is apparently still freelancing for someone. I caught a peek of of the local TV sports not long ago and saw him in the background with his trusty tape recorder in the Don Hutson Center.

Dylan Tomlinson would also be a solid hire. He was the beat writer for the P-C before the paper fazed out the job due to economic reasons.

Yeah, but wouldn't working for a weekly publication be considered a step down from what Jason Wilde is doing right now at the WSJ? Seeing as how they're looking for someone that is young that can offer up their layout skills, I suppose there hasn't been any mention of where to apply.
