Hi everyone.

What a year. It's easy to feel helpless or hopeless or both.

Maybe the best cure for which is to help someone else. And there are lots of folks in lots of places who need real help this year.

So @doctorquant and I will match, up to a total of $2000 over the next 9 weeks, donations to your local food banks and diaper banks.

Post a link to your charity, and a screenshot of your donation with no identifying information. Just the amount. If you wrote a check, send either of us a personal message. We trust you.

If you don't have a specific local diaper bank or food bank in mind, we'll direct you to one.

@doctorquant and I aren't trying to bury the hatchet. We're just trying to put the hatchet to use.

So give as much as you can, and we'll all feel better.

Go!

Doctor Quant could not be reached for comment.

A man who answered the phone at his residence screamed something in Latin, which language experts have translated as follows: “ ‘Golf’ is not a verb! Mein Gott! I have a curriculum vitae!!!”

I know, right?

In Omnibus Caritas!

To be fair, it was his idea.

Which I then plagiari . . . um, sampled.

Project Host fights food insecurity in the greater Greenville, S.C., area by feeding the hungry, training and educating the un- and underemployed, and paying it forward through social enterprises.

There's no need to post your donation publicly if you don't want to, but I hope you slackers have made a dent in the $2,000 pot.

If you can drop $20 at your local bookstore hunting depressed housewives, you can do this.

That's right.

If you'd rather do your good works anonymously, just PM one of us.

Happy to keep your goodness on the downlow.

Thanks, y'all. Meals on Wheels was one of my parents' favorite organizations. We still support it, and just signed up yesterday to deliver meals Thanksgiving morning.

Wow this is an excellent gesture of kindness from both of you. Thank you so much...it's spurred me to give to my local food bank for the first time instead of sending $25 down a Amy McGrath rabbit hole.!
