RIP, IMDB message boards

I didn't know they were hot garbage. I didn't read message boards for fan boy pics or individual actors, though. For me, they were for reading about plot points or some trivia about the production of a film.

I have no reason ever to go to iMDB again, so I just eradicated my account of 18 years. Click, poof, goodbye.

Sweet onion chutney, I would love to read Starman railing about the production values of Bambi and how those mother****ers at Disney are a bunch of cockslobberers for not getting the trees right in the background. It's GOLD Jerry!

No kidding.

@Starman can you link us to some of your posts on other message boards?

We should start a list of all the message boards Starman has been banned or might have been banned from.

AWFUL MOVE!! The message boards were essential, for clarifying plot points, airing plot theories, “who was that uncredited actor?”, “what was that mumbled line?”, “what was the song playing at the end of the episode?” etcetera…It was easy enough to identify and ignore the trolls and haters, and imdb users had methods for putting those people in their place. imdb just got a lot less useful. Contact imdb and urge them to rethink this: Contact us

Perhaps Star could port over his content and share here.
I'm curious to get his take on Hackman's portrayal of Lex Luthor.

I know. It is brutal. Now you will have to rely on any of the hundreds of other places on the internet that have that info.

BUT HOW WILL WE LIVE?!?!

Nope, the IMDB message boards were the only place on the Internet for discussing movies.
No other options exist.

Everything on the IMDB boards is gone.

As far as Hackman/Luthor: absolute dog****.

Are we sure the IMDB message boards weren't shut down BECAUSE of Starman's particular brand of online discourse? That really would be the next level. Instead of booting the internet's most infamous poster, unwelcome at even the most depraved sites, maybe they just closed up shop.

Actually I rarely said anything nasty naughty or even irritating on most IMDB boards. It was the nonstop racist spammers who swamped most boards who got them shut down.
