National Geographic channel with an hour-long show on several scenarios for the near-complete destruction of the human race. Asteroid impact, runaway virus epidemic, atomic war, catastrophic tsunamis, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Pull up a chair.

    It's probably all soccer's fault, anyway. ;D

    Nice NYC tsunami segment.

If you were standing in the middle of the road, and a 20-story wave was bearing down on you, would you really turn and run, screaming?

It's gonna kill me, so I'm gonna face it.

That would be an amazing ride if you knew you weren't going to die.

Yes, I would run like hell, but I wouldn't scream.

We're now onto a 100-meter-wide asteroid that will hit 10 miles north of Berlin.

    Cheery, cheery stuff.

Maybe someday, Hollywood will capitalize on the idea of all these catastrophes. ::)

I watched a similar show about two weeks ago. The asteroid stuff was pretty interesting, and they got into how the planet could defend itself. Pretty solid.

I think asteroid impact would have been one scenario I'd have left out of this show. Done to death.

I'd be pissed if there wasn't a surf shop nearby.

Mode of death No. 4 appears to be strangelets -- essentially, earth-devouring material.

    Would be quick, but cool.
