No way I could narrow this down to 10. It would be more like about 60. But, in the spirit of things I'll just name the first 10 that spring into mind as I try to think of movies I really like. This is not in any particular order after the first one.

    1. The Professional
    2. Kentucky Fried Movie
    3. The Sting
    4. Forrest Gump
    5. Fast Times at Ridgemont High
    6. Caddyshack
    7. Animal House
    8. There's Something About Mary (watching it on Cinemax West as I type)
    9. Stripes
    10. Stranger Than Fiction

Now, because I just went with the first 10 that came into mind, I now realize I left off:
    Boogie Nights
    A League of Their Own
    Untamed Heart
    Sideways
    Bull Durham
    The Groove Tube
    Airplane!
    Big Daddy
    A Cool, Dry Place
    Big
    Catch Me If You Can
    Apollo 13
    Four Friends
    The Holiday
    Full Metal Jacket
    The threee Austin Powers movies
    Beautiful Girls
    That Thing You Do!
    Happy Gilmore
    Hoosiers
    The Fugitive
    Breaking Away
    Awakenings
    The Firm
    The Client
    Regarding Henry
    The Wedding Singer
    Moscow on the Hudson
    The 40-year-old Virgin
    The Verdict
    My Cousin Vinny
    Titanic
    My Bodyguard
    The Rookie
    Beavis and Butt-head Do America
South Park, Bigger, Longer and Uncut
    An Officer and a Gentleman
    Urban Cowboy
    Can't Hardly Wait
    Field of Dreams
    When Harry Met Sally
    Sleepless in Seattle
When a Man Loves a Woman
    Just One of the Guys
    Cousins
    Jaws
    Bruce Almighty
    Picture Perfect
    Me, Myself and Irene
    Dumb and Dumber
    American Pie

That's like 53 more that I would watch any time I see them in my DirecTV guide.

And that's barely scratching the surface. And I already am thinking of more.

We had this writer once, you would tell him to write 10 inches and he'd come in at 60.

I was in high school, too, and what a great memory it was going with some high school buddies to see the double feature of KFM and The Groove Tube.

Actually, Dan, I think I came in at 63 there. And like I said, I'm already thinking of more. But you do have to admit I did post a list of 10 first, so the trim should be easy. :D :D

  7. Damn, now I need to find a spot for the South Park movie ..

No, I was simply saying that 10 was too few, then proved my point by listing a bunch without even trying. I stated what I was doing and listed 10, then listed others that certainly would get consideration if I really had to take the hours of decision-making to really cut the list to 10. Does that make me a bad person?

You only wish the trim were easy. [/13yearoldinme]

Anyhoo, KFM came out when I was in junior high. ZAZ even carried over a couple of the jokes from that to Airplane. A Fistful of Yen makes me laugh hard just thinking about it.

And Sam, I thought I'd be the only one with Dead Pool. Dirty Harry's sidekick kicked ass.
