He only started three games in '99, but for the relatively small sample size, those do seem to be his best numbers.

Did he play hurt a lot in 2001? He couldn't have missed that much time if he started 13 games.

Most of the Packers' 1970s drafts, especially the ones in the mid-70s, are a big disco ball full of fail. The 1980s weren't kind either.

OK, it looks like 2002 was the year he started only 8 games. I thought Matthews started more games in 2001.

Miller's passing stats were only about 165 yards a game -- way down from his 1999 numbers.

How are the Lions and Colts not mentioned yet?

Oh, he definitely wasn't good in 2001. I just don't think he was ever very good. The 1999 numbers are a very small sample given that he played in five games and started only three.

He was a surprisingly good oasis from the Cade McNown wreckage in 1999. What a terrible pick that was.

Again, he would have started some of those four games that he missed because of suspension.

The 1985 Patriots draft where they traded down to get Trevor Matich, rather than using the pick they swapped to get Jerry Rice, as the 49ers did, is surely a contender in this sweepstakes.
As for my fan team, the Eagles, they saved their worst for first. In the 1936 draft, they picked quarterback Jay Berwanger, who never played in the NFL. He went to med school instead, because there was more money in it.
