Your mall food court weakness

Pizzeria Regina in the Burlington Mall food court ... if you don't want to stand in line for two hours in the North End, it's a serviceable option.

Add another vote from this province. Phenomenal steak sandwiches there.

Also, the Mongolian BBQ places, although you've got to be smart to get the max amount of food, since they roll up the meat there.

Mongolian BBQ... one of the most underrated culinary options around.

Forget Sbarro's. Just get in your car and go to King of Prussia Mall.

You will eat there until you are sick ... and you probably won't even wind up in its food court. There are a ridiculous number of options. Best mall I've ever seen for eating.

FAR from it, actually. Suburban Philly. ;)

At least your "mall" offers food. :-\ [/one-floor podunk town mall patron]

Whatever. My fondest memories of Sbarro's fine cuisine happened at some PA Turnpike rest stop anyway.

Haven't been to the mall here in ATX, but the food court at the Union has Chik-Fil-A, which is the best fast food ever, hands down (of the food court varieties). They do a good breakfast biscuit.

And that was still probably a better experience than Sbarro.

My only experience with Sbarro's was on the New York Thruway/Garden State Parkway/New Jersey Turnpike/whatever (since I avoid malls, service areas are my version of a food court). I've had lots better. I've also had worse.
Are we finally rid of the caloric scourge that is Roy Rogers? The worst green apple splatters of my life (three days worth) came from an RR roast beef sandwich.
Allow me to rave about the buffet at the Bob's Big Boy on the NYT southbound near Cocksuckie. Not a huge selection, but man, what they had to offer was solid.

I'm a sucker for Sbarro's. Give me that huge-ass slice, three garlic rolls and my drink now!

Chinese joints are pretty tempting, too.

The company that owned scads of RR franchises turned a lot of them into TGI Friday's. There still are some scattered RRs out there, namely on the Jersey Turnpike.

We refuse to eat at rest stops. We get off the highway and take our chances in town. Sometimes that's good, sometimes that's bad. The worst was in Roanoke, Va., at Frank Beamer's restaurant, where even the bread was practically inedible. On a different thread, another poster told me the restaurant had since closed.

The best was in Newark, Del. The fact that they make their own gelato helped:

The most bizarre was in Yuma, Ariz. Downtown was like a ghost town. We ate at a place called Lute's Casino, where the local delicacy is a hamburger served with a hot dog on top of the burger.
