Prime rib, golden roasted potatos (a bit overdone) and salad with vinaigrette and blue cheese crumbles on the side.

Texas Department of Corrections took down the inmates' last meals a few years ago, saying people thought it was morbid.

But someone found this page that and put it on their own web site.

    Texas last meals

If we've decided the condemned prisoner is so reprehensible as a human being we need to remove them from existence on the planet earth (and the vast, vast majority of those in question have richly earned such status), why do we give a flying flaming fuck what they get to eat for their final meal?

Did the victims they murdered get to decide what they ate before they died?

Serve them bread and water, then flip the switch.

I find the list more interesting because I can find out what the person did to be on death row anyway.  Missouri has a site through the missourinet that gives the stories of the men on death row in Missouri.  I don't know why I enjoy reading those stories so much, but I think it has something to do with all the sociology and criminology classes I took in college.  I just want to try to get into their heads, and I know it's not possible, but I have always wondered what causes someone to kill another human being.

Sadly, in the case of many Texas death row inmates, not much.

I will say this ... I've personally known three death row inmates and it's odd knowing what awaited/awaits them. The first went to my high school and played on the football team before killing a homosexual in Houston. The second burned up a houseful of his children in Madison County and the third was released from Death Row after having his conviction overturned.

Too bad Ice Cube wasn't Death Row, other wise I'd say, "two in the morning get the Fatburger."

My last meal would be finished with fugu (blowfish) sushi.

Sure, "death by sushi" is not what I'd want on my tombstone, but it beats lethal injection or the electric chair.
