    Kenny Rogers and Brad Penny?!?!?!

Everyone who had that at the beginning of the year, head to the pay window.

Kids everywhere will be asking mom and dad to stay up late to watch an inning or two of that matchup.

  3. Cause, you know, this is a game for the fans. And the fans were clamoring -- nay, begging -- for The Gambler and Brad Penny.

Gotta be because Rogers hasn't pitched since last Wednesday.

hey hey hey, this time it counts, remember?

(Besides, it's possible that having better pitchers in at the end will prevent rallies to tie the game.)

Probably part of it, but he does have 11 wins, only one behind the leader and a 3.85 ERA.

Sounds like it was a big, if not THE biggest part of it:

All three have significantly lower ERAs as well.

Guillen said that factored into it during the press conference, which proved another good Guillen sound bite. Someone asked how he felt about Manny's knee preventing him from playing in the All-Star Game given that Manny played all 19 innings on Sunday.

Guillen said it didn't bother him ... because Manny went 1 for 8 and the Red Sox lost.

If Ozzie had any sense of humor at all he would have started Mark Redman

I would have watched it just for that.

Yeah, I would have watched just for that, too. :D

And it shouldn't bother him. Ramirez played for his team, the one that pays him to win games.
