I still have a warm spot in my heart for the Wichita Falls Texans.

 

These guys tried to hire me as their PR director right after I got out of college about 20 years ago. Even at that gullible stage in my life I knew these doucherockets were full of fail.

And yeah, it was a direct spin off of the Coors Light Silver Bullet ad campaign.

 

I'm probably one of the few people who remember the Santa Barbara Islanders, who put up stakes in my county in 1989 and then disappeared after one season.

I went to one game. They had U.S. Olympian/current NBA referee Leon Wood and lesser-know brother Derrick Gervin on the team.

 

I knew they were doomed when they spelled the name of their own city wrong. Yakima, Yakama. Yakkity yak, don't talk back.

 

I don't need to kick around the Sun Kings, but I'll kick around the town all I want. That place is an absolute shitbin.

 

I prefer the Pirates, thankyouverymuch.

 

Yakima is the city...Yakama is the name of the local tribe.
