Alabama's D.J. Fluker, Tennessee's Tyler Bray and Maurice Couch, Mississippi State's Chad Bumphis and Fletcher Cox:

This just in... The NCAA has informed Alabama that it must suspend one player of its choosing for the first half of either the Colorado State or the Chattanooga game.

Wetzel already predicting nothing will come of this:

Also, the documentation in the Yahoo! story makes the SI Oklahoma State report look amateurish by comparison. Downright surgical work by Charles Robinson, who is the best there is at this kind of stuff.

Yeah, but if it doesn't involve a hostess getting it doggy-style, I'm just not interested.

Which school was Davis working on behalf of when he was allegedly paying these kids?

Yeah, there aren't enough superlatives out there to adequately describe Charles. He's just an awesome reporter and an awesome guy.

wouldn't he be working for the agent?

    That's my point.

The allegations in the OSU story are much worse than anything here.

Except that OSU didn't win a national championship last season with a star player who might have been ineligible for receiving impermissible benefits.

hey, wait a minute, that part doesn't come out until friday. (yes, i checked to see if the doggy-style detail actually appeared in the story. now that would be some thorough reporting.)

Unless Yahoo - or anybody else - has proof Alabama knew this was going they're in no danger of losing the trophy. And I say that as someone who has no love for the place.

Things may change as more information comes out, but right now this is nothing more than a runner who was apparently slipping some cash to kids and skimming money off the top from some agents.

You also have to question the business acumen of any agent who thought it was a sound financial decision to invest in Tyler Bray. Do these guys not watch college football?
