    We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and versatile journalist who can combine a passion for college sports, recruiting and knowledge of the Internet for Rivals.com. Rivals.com and its network of college team sites taps into the massive appetite for college sports, using written and video content to provide the best news, features and discussion of college sports and recruiting on team, regional and national sites.

    The job is divided into two parts:

    - Programmer: Candidate will work with local team sites to ensure the best content - original and aggregated – is displayed in the best way.

    - Editor: Candidate will enhance content on college team sites to make it appropriate for national site. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of the types of content that are successful on the Web and a flair for packaging and promotion. The ideal candidate must have a strong sports journalism background. An understanding of the competitive landscape both online (blogs, other sites) and off (print and TV) is a must. As is a sense of humor.

    Responsibilities include:

    - Programming/updating assigned sites on our college network
    - Collaborating with team site publishers
    - Editing original and aggregated content
    - Pitching content to the Rivals.com national channels
    - Utilizing internal data sources to track key metrics for all content produced and using this information to inform future content production

    Requirements:

    - Minimum 2 years of experience in the sports journalism industry
    - Understanding of the basic principles of Web content production
    - Fundamental understanding of HTML and related web authoring tools and photo editing software such as Photoshop
    - Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    - Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    - B.A. required
