The looks on his friends' faces are ... well ... horrific.

Go back to the tape on the skateboard dude.

"Wow......I can't believe he made the 720"-- as body scoopers rush out to inspect the damage.

    You dumb deusch.

FWIW- I can't quit laughing at that video. Just the sight of his arms and legs flailing, followed by his shoes getting shot off his feet.

I saw that at a bar last night, and the consensus was the guy was dead....especially after they pulled on his arm and he didn't move. That's when they cut real quick to a commercial. That guy had to have gotten a concussion.

I think ESPN is really mis-marketing this event. It's not the "X Games." I've always called it the "Ass-Bust Olympics."

He ever so slightly caught a bit of the incline... didn't land purely flat.

    That saved some damage.

Skip Bayless, on the slam: It might be the X Games' most powerful marketing pitch. People watch NASCAR for the crashes, and apparently, people watch the X Games to see people....die? get maimed?

What a clueless dork. He's the whiter, angrier Joe Morgan.

Still haven't found a good update on his condition, but there is this ... http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/20070803-9999-1s3xgames.html

Not to minimize the accident at all, but as far as his shoes flying off, I don't think that skateboarders exactly lace them up like ol' Lou Groza.

I do think that the X-Games just had their greatest moment of exposure... by far.

Worried? Hell, they're hoping for it.

This is Rodney McCray running through the right-field fence all over again.

A major, memorable, visual event in a sport that is barely a niche attraction.

Like Malarchuk getting Friday the 13th'ed.
