wtf? minaya gets a contract extension?

I'm not stretching anything. The Mets consistently refuse to build an identity, even when everyone else is building from within and recognizing that it's much smarter and safer to do that rather than going crazy on the free agent market. They consistently apply $60 and $120 million band-aids to their gaping wound of credibility. Going out and getting AJ Burnett is a typically bad Mets idea: Paying a guy with a history of arm and head issues $12-$15 mil a year...at age 32.

Murphy and Evans have combined for 230 ABs and Niese has thrown 14 innings. They have a lot to do before the Mets should be counting on them. And there's not much at all coming up behind them. Because they're the Mets.

 

Isn't Wayne Krivsky now a consultant under Omar? He was thrown under the bus by Castellini in Cincy. I wouldn't mind seeing him get another shot somewhere.
