Not paying much attention to the tournament, or the running thread but AP's WSOP glances:
    Yesterday had Jesus busting out.
Today have him doubling his stack and almost guaranteed to make it to next round.

I love AP!!!! I'd call them, and tell em, but Poker isn't a sport.

Here's a wonderful AP nugget -- Phil Hellmuth Jr., who owns a record 10 World Series bracelets and is widely considered the best poker player in the world, was eliminated after about six hours of action.

He's widely considered the BEST player in the world? Polling whom, Phil's mother?

Phil would tell you that's correct.

I would love to witness a conversation about anything between Phil Hellmuth and Joe Morgan.

"...widely considered one of the top tournament poker players in the world" would be more accurate.

Supposedly Hellmuth is average at best as a limit cash game player.

And does, in the AP story:

“I think I’m the best Hold ’Em player in history.”

TWL had, earlier today, a big feature on the World Series of Rock-Paper-Scissors in Vegas.

Next week, the North American Tiddlywinks Regionals and the Penny-Pitching Playoffs.

From Disney World, the first Duck-Duck-Goose Nationals.

Don't forget Marco Polo and Ding Dong Ditch.
    Is DDD hyphenated?
I don't see it in the AP Stylebook.

IIRC, the Rock Paper Scissors is a charity fundraiser at the WSOP.

So is Indian Poker, I think.

I don't care if it's halftime entertainment at Pope Benedict LXIX's first porno exorcism, it should never see the light of television day.

Nor, for that matter, should poker. Our fucknut publisher is forcing us to run a goddamn poker column, while we run fractional-sentence roundups of major league baseball games.

I'm really looking forward to the AP covering next week's Red Rover entry draft. I hear there is a kindergartner coming out of THE Ohio State University that will be a major sleeper and will end up cracking the starting lineup by the end of the season.
