    They aren't taking care of their own because they care about the person. The Jets want one year out of this schmuck and are hoping to alleviate the distractions so they can use him.

    Nothing noble about this at all.

    Many moons ago, I worked for a family-owned paper. When my car was in the shop, they gave me the keys to one of the suburbans used by circulation.

    It wasn't super nice, but it got me where I needed to go for a couple of days.

    Of course that pales in comparison to a half million bucks to payoff your babys' mamas.
