Worst Super Bowl ... EVAR

I will put in the routs, but to me, watching a truly great team do its thing isn't nearly as bad as

    2.8%
  2. IV (Chiefs 23, Vikings 7)

    1 vote(s)

  3. VI (Cowboys 24, Dolphins 3)

  4. XII (Cowboys 27, Broncos 10)

    13.9%
  5. XXVI (Redskins 37, Bills 24)

Walsh retired after Super Bowl XXIII. That was George Seifert coaching that Niners team.

Nope. I'm a card-carrying Bills fangirl, and even we didn't think our team had a chance that night.

I'd add my vote for XXXV, but I slept through the second half. (Of course, that may just prove the point.) And Mr. Rockford, you might want to subtract an X - Raiders-Indigenous People was XVIII.

I don't know that Super Bowl IX wasn't that level of awful. I've only seen the highlights, but it seems to me that was more of a defensive game than one that was played badly.

It was 2-0 at halftime. The Vikings' only score came on a blocked punt, and they couldn't even kick the extra point. Their offense was horrible.

If "boring" is the criteria, any of the Viking games are in the mix.

Maybe it's the Steelers' fanboy in me, but I would have loved to watch the Steel Curtain at its best, absolutely dominating a game.

Jeez, how many fanboys are there on this site?

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the Vikings had a lead in any of the four Super Bowl games they played. Not one lead in 240 minutes of football. Completely non-competitive in four games.

If they aren't involved in the Worst game Evar, they deserve their own Lifetime Acheivement award for making four games as boring as crap.

All of the Vikings' Super Bowl's were before my time, but I've never heard any of them described as anything other than boring.

    There's been a ton of boring ones in my time: Raiders-Eagles, Bears-Patriots, 49ers-Broncos, Bills-Cowboys I, 49ers-Chargers, Broncos-Falcons, Rams-Titans (until the end), Bucs-Raiders and Steelers-Seahawks.

But the Giants-Ravens Super Bowl is hands down the most boring Super Bowl ever. What made it worse is the notion that the '00 Giants might be the worst team to ever play in the Super Bowl. The '00 Ravens' defense is on the short list for the best ever, but it's a shame it didn't have anything close to a worthy foe to stop.

Giants/Ravens was the worst I've seen. A very non Super Bowl-worthy team, one sided, poorly played and painfully boring to watch. It had it all. I've seen plenty of bad super bowls but that one stands out.

I'm a Cowboys fanboy so maybe my view is biased, but both defenses played well in that game. It's not like both teams totally sucked, just the offenses. Only time the MVP went to a player on the losing team (Howley) and one of only six times it went to a defensive player (if you count White and Martin sharing the XII MVP as a single instance.)

Anyone care to rank every Super Bowl, best to worst, or is that another thread? Be interested to see.
